Leeston North & Leeston South Land drainage drains

Greenpark land drainage drains

Please be advised that a land and drainage scheduled spray program will be undertaken in the Leeston North and Leeston South areas

These works form the Committees 2026 Work Plan that has been provided to Selwyn District Council.


All spraying activities will be carried out in accordance with the relevant resource consents: CRC212849-CRC201738

The work will be undertaken by Grounds & Services Limited and traffic management in place.

Selwyn District Council will be cutting weed in the Ararira/LII river starting from the 13th of February 2026 until completed.

A barrier will be placed on the river 200m downstream of Wolfes Road boat ramp.

This work is in accordance with Environment Canterbury consents CRC000818.1 and CRC000819.

Selwyn District Council holds Resource Consent CRC201738 to spray Drains and Water Races within the Selwyn District. Under this consent Council is required to submit a copy of the annual spray programme for the forthcoming year.

Please refer to the Spray Programme for the 2025/2026-year detailing:

  • Chemicals to be used
  • Areas of operation
  • Application methods
  • Proposed starting dates and locations
  • Duration of the discharge

Also refer to the Spray Location Map, shows the extent of the drainage networks and schemes, including locations of identified sites of ecological significance.
