Virtual drainage procedure
As a result of COVID 19 alert levels restricting the way we work, we have developed remote virtual drainage inspections as an alternative process for these types of inspections.
Drainlayer criteria
A virtual drainage inspection can only be undertaken if the drains have been installed by a currently registered certifying drainlayer.
Virtual inspection documentation requirements
You must provide the following for Council to review prior to inspection:
- a scale drawn as built drainage plan with drainlayers details: name, registration number, licence class
- completed construction statement [PDF, 1058 KB].
Virtual video inspection
- An inspection can be booked when all documentation has been uploaded to the building consent through the required documents in the AlphaOne portal
- A video call or Zoom meeting will then be scheduled with an inspector to be shown around the installation to verify the installation is as per the documentation provided
- Please have a level, torch and tape measure available
- The inspector will complete a site inspection notice as per normal procedure and issue a copy of this to the owner and the installer
- The inspector will record on the inspection notice that it has been carried out as a virtual inspection
- If the inspection is a fail, the notice will identify the information to be provided or remedial work to be carried out, and if a re-inspection is required.
