Why this matters

Land use resource consent (gold & silver partners only)

  • You can still submit PPP applications if there are minor outstanding land resource consent matters, such as:
    • Vehicle crossings.
    • Setbacks.
    • Height to boundary limits.
    • Windows facing the street.
    • Outlook space or outdoor living areas.

In these cases, your building consent may be issued with a special condition (section 37 notice).

  • Important to know:
    • You apply at your own risk when you apply before (or at the same time as) resource consent.
    • Resource consent may not be granted.
    • Your building plans may need to change during the process.
  • If changes are required:
    • Submit updated documents to keep building and resource consent aligned.
    • Minor changes » minor variation.
    • Large changes » formal amendment.

If you application doesn’t meet PPP requirements

  • Your application will:
    • Be returned to you to fix.
    • Need to resubmitted as a new application.
    • May add additional costs.

Applications that don't qualify for PPP

Amendments

  • An amendment for an application processed under the PPP will:
    • Be treated the same as standard amendments.
    • Take up to 20 working days (we aim to complete these sooner where possible).

Subdivision resource consent not yet granted

  • An application won’t be accepted until the subdivision consent has been granted.

Land use resource consents (bronze partners)

  • Applications with resource consent issues will go to the normal processing queue.
