Water billing has moved to Selwyn Water Limited
From 1 July 2026, drinking water and wastewater charges are billed by Selwyn Water Limited.
If you previously paid your six-monthly water invoice to Selwyn District Council by automatic payment or internet banking, you'll need to update your payment details to Selwyn Water Limited's bank account.

Important: If you have an outstanding water bill issued by Selwyn District Council before 1 July 2026, this still needs to be paid directly to the Council.
How to pay outstanding water bills from SDC dated before 01/07/2026
When paying your Water invoice through internet banking, enter the Account Number as indicated on the Water Invoice (refer to the sample notice below) in the 'Particulars' and 'Reference' fields.
The Council will not be responsible for incorrectly entered information.
