From Thursday 18 June to Friday 7 August CORDE will be carrying out works on behalf of Selwyn District Council to upgrade a culvert on Leeston Road.

This work has been planned to reduce flooding risk in the area, without impacting areas already prone to flooding.  This work will reduce occassions when this road is closed due to flooding over winter, making the road safer and reducing closures and delays particularly over winter.

Traffic Impacts

  • From 7am Thursday 18 June - 7pm Friday 31 July Leeston Road will be closed from Goulds Road to just past East Maddisons Road.
  • Following this - temporary lights will be in place until 5pm Friday 7 August
  • There will be no exit from East Maddisons Road to Leeston Road.
  • Vehicles travelling from Collins Road will need to detour via Leeston Road, Ellesmere Junction Road, and Goulds Road to get back onto Leeston Road
  • Vehicles travelling on Leeston Road will need to detour via Goulds Road, Ellesmere Junction Road to get back onto Leeston Road
