To that end, the council has:

• a zero waste strategy

• a weekly household waste collection service for recyclable, organic and residual (landfill-bound) waste

• a resource recovery park with a recycling depot, composting facilities and a transfer station.

Wheelie Bin Safety Reminder

Last winter hot ashes caused a number of wheelie bin fires. These fires are potentially dangerous and could burn down a house or destroy a collection truck. Please leave your ashes to cool for at least five days and ensure that they are cold, before putting them in your wheelie bin.
