Planned Works - Darfield, Lincoln, and Dunsandel

Updated Monday 11 March 2024

We will be carrying out works between 225 - 336 Adams Road, Darfield, as part of the ongoing upgrade to the existing water service. This work will begin on Monday 18 March until Friday 12 April 2024 and will involve laying new water pipes in the road reserve to replace the existing pipes and to connect the new pipes to the existing water network. The contractor for this work is CORDE Ltd.

During the works there will be traffic management on Adams Road. Two-way traffic will be maintained as the majority of the works are in the berm and road shoulder. When the works are outside your property, access to your driveway could be restricted, please speak to the work staff and they will organise for you to get in or out of your property safely. We apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause and thank you for your patience while this work is carried out.

Updated Tuesday 27 February 2024

We are carrying out works in Dunsandel on Thursday 7 March 2024 to install new valves in the water supply pipes. This work will require shutting off water to the entire Dunsandel township from 9:00pm, Thursday 7 March until 1:00am, Friday 8 March 2024. The contractor for this work is CORDE Ltd.

Please refer to the information below, 'When the Water is Switched Back On', for further advice on this shutdown.

Updated Wednesday 6 December 2023

We are carrying out works to install a new watermain (from the recently drilled bore at 13 Marion Place, Lincoln) to the existing Water Treatment Plant on Kakahi Street. Work will commence 8 January 2024 and is expected to be finished in 2 months.

To minimise disruption, it is proposed to install the pipe using Horizontal Directional Drilling under the roadway, and through Lincoln Green. Some excavation will be required. This work will require a stop-go or priority give way system on Marion Place. We are conscious that Marion Place is a cul-de-sac, and all efforts will be made to maintain access for affected residents at all times.

Work will be carried out in sections of up to 100 meters. When the works are outside a resident's property, access to the driveway could be restricted - we will let residents know if this is going to happen and keep this to a minimum. The staff onsite can assist if residents require access to their property during this time.

We will try to keep traffic, dust, and noise to a minimum and we will update residents as the works progress. The water supply will not be affected. The contractor for this work is CORDE Ltd. Staff will begin work from 7:00am and aim to be completed onsite by 7:00pm daily, Monday to Friday.

WHEN THE WATER IS SWITCHED BACK ON

We encourage you to flush your taps by running them for a few moments, starting with any outside taps.  When water is shut off, air bubbles can become trapped in the pipes.  When the water is turned back on, and the air is pushed out under pressure, it can dislodge rust or scale from the pipe walls.

Flushing your outside taps prevents this being drawn into the taps inside your home. If you run a business that requires constant water service, you will need to organise your own water storage as necessary.  If you have a sprinkler system, we recommend you inform your insurance company of this shutdown.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we carry out these works to upgrade your water network and keep it in good working order.

Unplanned Water Shutdowns

During an unplanned water shutdown, our contractor may not have time to door-knock as their focus is on restoring the water supply as soon as possible.
