Obtaining a code compliance certificate (CCC) is the last step in confirming that your building complies with your issued building consent.
For a pictorial overview see our diagram in our publication [PDF, 2686 KB] on code compliance certificates.
Overview of getting your code compliance certificate
Apply for your code compliance certificate before you book your final inspection - check you have submitted all required documents and any information requested from inspection reports
Book final inspection - use the same booking procedure as for other inspections
Your final inspection will be carried out
The inspector will check that you have provided all documents to allow them to make a decision on whether your building complies with your consent
Note - council has 20 working days to decide whether to issue or refuse a code compliance certificate
You may receive an invoice if there have been additional costs during your build - eg additional inspections
Your code compliance certificate will be issued after you have paid all fees due OR you will be advised if your code compliance has been refused
