Consultation information

As part of early planning for the LTP, we carried out a pre-engagement consultation in 2023 to understand our community's priorities for the next 10 years.

We used the pre-engagement information to guide the development of our draft Long-Term Plan 2024-34. We then formally consulted on the proposals for our district in April and May 2024. This was done through our consultation document, 'Your Future Selwyn', which set out our proposals and budget for 2024-34.

We accepted feedback on the draft Long-Term Plan 2024-34 from 2 April - 2 May 2024, and received 1,509 submissions - the most we have ever received on a long-term plan. The submissions are available to read below.

Council deliberations

Following public hearings, Council deliberated on all the feedback we had received during the consultation to make final decisions about what would go into the 2024-34 Long-Term Plan. Deliberations took place from 22-24 May 2024. The Council deliberations are available to read below.
