Smarter, more innovative roading maintenance is delivering strong results in Selwyn — with collaboration and techniques like microsurfacing driving projects ahead of schedule and under budget.

By April, officially marking the end of the roading construction season, the Council had completed 83 km of resurfacing on time and nearly 14% under budget. It had also passed its plan to rebuild 7.5km of road, completing more than 12 km, and 9.5% under budget.

These savings have funded upgrades to an additional 12 km of road, while early delivery helped avoid rising fuel costs, saving ratepayers even more.
