Selwyn District Council confirms CORDE Director Reappointment and AGM outcomes

The Selwyn District Council has approved the reappointment of Ben Kepes for a second term as a Director of CORDE Limited.
His reappointment ensures continuity and stability during a period of change, including the appointment of a new CEO, Chair, and sub-committee chairs over the past 18 months.
At Wednesday afternoon’s Council meeting (November 26), Mayor Lydia Gliddon and Deputy Mayor Big Red Shefford (as alternate) were appointed as Council’s proxy for the CORDE Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was held on Wednesday evening.
The CORDE AGM confirmed:
- Adoption of the Directors’ Report, Financial Statements, and Auditor’s Report for the year ended 30 June 2025;
- Appointment of the Auditor-General as the Company’s auditor for the year ending 30 June 2026, with directors authorised to fix the auditor’s remuneration.
The CORDE director decision was considered in a Public Excluded Council meeting to protect the privacy of the individual director being discussed. “Where the Council makes decisions that affect a person’s employment. It is important that we safeguard their privacy,” says Mayor Lydia Gliddon.
“CORDE now has a strong commercial board appropriate for a Council-Controlled Trading Organisation (CCTO), and we look forward to working together in this new triennium, delivering commercial success and infrastructure services for Selwyn."
