The teams visited two dairy sheds with a specialist rural builder Rural Building Solutions Ltd, for a first-hand view of the sheds being built and in use.

The team is expecting an increase in applications for building dairy sheds in the next year and the visit was part of keeping up with the specific needs around the building of dairy farming infrastructure, Head of Building Vanessa Mitchell says.

“A lot of what our team work on, of course, is house builds. But dairy is a core part of Selwyn’s economy, so we want to stay in touch and have a really good first-hand understanding of the work. It was also a great opportunity to keep building our relationships and discuss how we can work better together to streamline the consent process and create efficiencies that benefit everyone involved.”
