Selwyn completes search for Canterbury Museum board representative
The Selwyn District Council is pleased to announce Bryan Jamison has been appointed as its representative to the Canterbury Museum Board.
Mr Jamison comes with an extensive background as a chief executive and board chair working internationally in Europe, North America and Asia and locally as CEO of Fern Energy, Board Chair at City Care, and a director on the board of the Crusaders.
Selwyn is a contributing partner of the museum, with residents contributing financially to its rebuild and operation, making it important to recruit a strong board member, Council CEO Sharon Mason says.
Mr Jamison brings experience in project management on large construction projects internationally, as well as with City Care. This, together with strong financial acumen and governance experience, makes him an excellent appointment by Selwyn District Council to the Board for the next four years.
“We are very pleased to appoint Bryan. His experience on infrastructure projects will be a great asset to the Board in supporting the Canterbury Museum build project,” Mason says.
“We had a number of really high-calibre candidates apply and we were grateful to Bryan for accepting the role.”
Mr Jamison says he is excited by the opportunity to be a part of leading the Museum at a key time in its history.
“The Museum is a critical part of the region and my family and I love the arts and heritage. So, it was great timing as I was completing other projects and had some time to give back to an important institution in a role that matches my skills."
