The Malvern Community Board and Mayor Lydia Gliddon in two rows in the Darfield Library

There was a view to an exciting future at the Malvern Community Board inaugural meeting.

The five board members were sworn in for the next three years, in front of family and friends at the Darfield Library on Monday.

Evan Frew was elected as the chair of the board, and Bex Lambie as the deputy-chair.

Mayor Lydia Gliddon welcomed the board to their new roles and swore them in.

“We have got a very exciting future, and we all serve this community with real commitment. What I appreciate about Malvern is that people don’t sit back. They get involved, they speak up, and they care deeply about our towns, community and future, and this board shares a crucial role in making sure those voices are heard.”

The board is:

Hawkins Subdivision:

Evan Frew (chair), Alan Peacock, and Samantha Samuel

Tawera Subdivision:

Bex Lambie (deputy chair), and Barry Mackenzie
