Venue Spotlight: Broadfield Community Centre
With its rich history, timeless character and strong community connections, Broadfield Community Centre is one of Selwyn’s hidden gems.
Originally built in the 1870s, the building served as Broadfield School until the 1950s and remains an important part of the district’s heritage today. Recognised as a Category 2 listed building, it continues to be a place where people can come together to celebrate, connect and create memories.
Located on a recreation reserve between Lincoln and Rolleston, Broadfield Community Centre offers a peaceful and rural setting that feels far enough away from town, while still being convenient to get to.
The hall provides a versatile space for a wide range of events and activities, making it a popular choice for community groups and families.
Whether you’re planning a birthday celebration, marking a family milestone, hosting a community meeting or organising a children’s party, the venue offers a welcoming and practical environment. The hall is also wheelchair accessible and includes kitchen facilities, as well as onsite parking for guests.
Other features include a large outdoor space, as well as tennis and netball courts.
