HEB maintenance receives national award

For the past 16 years HEB Construction has looked after over 2,500km of roads in the Selwyn District.

That work was recognised on 14 August, with HEB Construction winning the Excellence in Maintenance and Management of Assets award as the best road maintenance contractor in the country at the Civil Construction New Zealand National Awards.

The judges recognised HEB’s work for doing the basics well, alongside innovations using technology to improve monitoring and trialling of the country's first rubber road.

The team, who mainly live in Selwyn, have managed one of the fastest changing networks in the country, with the number of cars and the distance they're driving doubling. Vehicles now travel more than 600 million kilometres a year on Selwyn roads.
