One of the things people love about living in Selwyn is our fantastic outdoors.

Even in winter Selwyn has heaps to offer if you're looking to get out and about and make the most of the great outdoors we have on our doorstep.

In Selwyn we're lucky to have six great ski-fields with easy access to uncrowded slopes where family fun is the aim of the game.

Each ski-field has their own quirks and the best thing is that they’re so close, you could go for a day trip or spend a night.
Selwyn also has some of the clearest night skies making it the perfect place for star gazing, astrophotography and connecting with the cosmos.

Learn more about our universe with a visit to the R.F. Joyce Observatory in West Melton, the closest observatory to Christchurch. Or book in a personal stargazing tour with Christchurch Astro Tours in Lincoln.
