Selwyn District Council is offering an opportunity to spend a month in China travelling, learning and meeting people from around the world.

Applications have opened for the Gansu Sister Cities Fellowship programme. Each year the Gansu Provincial Government hosts delegates from their sister cities, including Selwyn and Christchurch, with the aim of promoting mutual understanding and fellowship.

Based in the city of Lanzhou from 20 August to 20 September, delegates will have the opportunity to travel and to study Chinese history, culture, political system, tourism, technology and economic development, plus agriculture and sister city works.

Applicants must be between 22 and 50 years of age and live or work in Selwyn. The Gansu Fellowship programme pays for international air fares, accommodation and local transport plus an allowance. Delegates pay for their own food, travel insurance, medical expenses and internet.

To apply email Bernadette.Ryan@selwyn.govt.nz. Applications close on Friday 31 May 2019 at 9am. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 4 June.
