Selwyn businesses wanting to know how they can make use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, or what legal requirements they need to be aware of, are being invited to attend the district’s Business After Five event on Tuesday 18 July.

The free networking event will feature a presentation from local digital marketing expert, Julia Roberts of The Marking Club on ways AI can be used to support businesses. Paul Owens and Judith Bullin from Rolleston-based firm, Parry Field Lawyers will also speak at the event, offering information on how to keep businesses healthy.

Council Community & Economic Development Lead Christine Lane says Business After Five will be a great opportunity for Selwyn businesses to connect, network and learn.

“We’re very excited to partner with Parry Field Lawyers on this event. It can be hard as a business owner or manager to keep up with all the legal requirements you need to be aware of, and with the rise in AI technologies, people are really wanting to know what impact it could have for their industry.”

“These are really topical issues right now, and we’re delighted to have these local experts willing to share some of their insights with event goers.”

Business After Five will be happening at the Drafters Bar & Restaurant in Rolleston from 5–6.30pm on 18 July. The speakers will start at 5pm, with networking opportunities getting underway from 5.30pm.
