Selwyn Aquatic Centre will be partially closed during the week of 10-16 October for necessary maintenance work.

The new extension to the Aquatic Centre will remain open throughout, with lanes available for general use and a programme of events for users.

While the work is underway, the main entrance will be closed and a temporary entrance will be open next to the new extension. Some car parks next to the building will also not be available.

Maintenance will include work on pipes, pumps, some flooring and the mountings for the roof-mounted air exchange units.

The necessary maintenance has been planned for as short a time as possible, at a low-use period and with pools still available, to minimise the disruption for users, Aquatic Centre Operations Manager Nick McConaghty says.

“Having the extension means we can still have a pool available for all users while we carry out this necessary maintenance. We have a good programme of events and classes still happening, including school holiday events for kids. The Selwyn Sports Centre is also running its regular school holiday programme.”
