map of Foster Park showing parking areasTemporary parking has been installed at Foster Park while construction of a new car park is completed.

Work is ongoing to build a new car park to replace the former gravel car park on the eastern edge of the park off Broadlands Drive.
The new asphalt car park will have 213 car parks, a kiss-and-go area and new footpaths, along with landscaping, lighting and fencing and is due to open in early June, following delays due to supply chain shortages.

In the meantime, the Council has also made temporary car parking available on Saturdays during the month of May at the northern end of the new car park. Rolleston College has also made their carpark available, except on the 21 May when the college needs the park for their events.

This parking is in addition to the Selwyn Sports Centre car parking off Broadlands Drive and the car parking at the southern end of Foster Park off Dynes Road.

The Council is encouraging people to also consider other options, such as cycling or walking if you live close by, or carpooling. Or to consider parking at nearby streets and walk from there.
