There’s still time to have your say on proposed rules for keeping animals, poultry and bees in our urban areas.

As Selwyn’s population grows, especially in our townships, so does the number of pets and animals we have. Which is why the Council has developed a draft bylaw on the keeping of animals, poultry and bees.

The draft bylaw will help manage issues to do with the keeping of animals (excluding dogs), poultry and bees, in urban areas of Selwyn.

Submissions are open until 5pm Friday 6 November.

You can read the draft bylaw and make a submission online. Or you can download a submission form and email it to animalbylaw@selwyn.govt.nz or post to: The Regulatory Manager, Selwyn District Council, Bylaw for Keeping Animals, PO Box 90, Rolleston 7643.
