Swell programme on airTopics as diverse as brain health, starting your own business for those aged 50+, and the pros and cons of moving into a retirement village will be covered on this year’s SWELL on air programme on Plains FM 96.9.

The radio show is part of the SWELL series running from 9–23 October.

"The radio programme was developed last year, as the expo was unable to run, and was such a success we had to do it again," Community and Economic Development Advisor Kirstin Dingwall-Okoye says.

This year’s programme has been developed by Robyn Johnston of Transition Navigators with Plains FM, and includes interviews with a wide range of people supporting older people to live well in Selwyn.

Episodes will run at 11am on Plains FM, this Wednesday to Saturday 22 October. The programmes will be available through Spotify and Apple podcasts, once they have aired. The series has been curated from presentations held during last week’s SWELL expo speaker series.

Dingwall-Okoye says "SWELL is all about celebrating wellbeing and inclusion for older people, particularly those living or thinking about living in Selwyn district. There are now large communities of older people in Selwyn and we’re keen to make people aware of organisations, groups and information that will support them to live well here.”
