The Council will be running a busy programme for the popular annual KidsFest event, from Saturday 10 to Sunday 25 July.

KidsFest has been running for 30 years and this year has seen some exciting additions on top of the old favourites returning,

Council Events and Funding Coordinator Cristene Trenuela Chan says.“We’re delighted with an exciting line up of over 70 events this year. We’ve put a real focus on getting events out across more of the district and we’ve been able to add a whole new set of events at the Selwyn Sports Centre as well.”

This year’s festival will feature events held across libraries, sports and community centres, and the Selwyn Aquatic Centre, including the return of favourites such as the high ropes challenge, Moviemania and the return of Elgregoe the Magician.

There has been a focus on increasing events district wide such as the popular Kids Market which will see markets held in Rolleston and Darfield in addition to the annual Kids Market in Lincoln.

The Selwyn Youth Council will be bringing the dance moves for 13-17 year olds, with two BOOST events – a Hip Hop workshop and disco – come along bring your TikTok moves.Children and families will once again have the opportunity to get a whole new view of the district through the Eye Spy Selwyn activity hunt, which will take children to explore the district and win prizes.
