water poured into glass in sink

Precautionary low-dose chlorine treatment is being temporarily added to the West Melton supply as total coliforms were detected in the supply during routine testing. Temporary chlorine treatment of the Kirwee supply has ended.

The low-dose chlorine treatment is precautionary only, and no E.coli has been detected within the water supplies. The background total coliforms were detected within a reservoir. Residents do not need to boil water.

We are expecting that this will be a short-term measure, however this will depend on further testing to ensure the water supply is clear of coliforms.
