image of the Springfield domain showing the Springfield donut and a New Zealand flagSpringfield residents are invited to a drop-in session to chat with Council staff about ongoing investigations into May 2021 flood event and possible flood mitigation options for the township.

The session will be held on Thursday 15 September 4-6pm at the Springfield Community Hall.

Council Water Services staff will be on hand to answer questions about the process so far project. Staff will discuss the May 2021 flood event, what caused the flooding issues experience, opportunities that have been identified for mitigation. A preferred option has been identified however there are a number of challenges to implementation.

The meeting will also be an opportunity for the community to provide feedback on the possible options.
