Here is a summary of Selwyn District Council services and opening hours during the holiday period.
The Council’s Rolleston Offices will be closed from 12 midday Friday 24 December, reopening 8.30am Wednesday 5 January.
Rubbish and recycling collections collection days will proceed as normal.
Pines Resource Recovery Park is closed both Saturday 25 December and Saturday 1 January. Standard opening hours operate for the rest of the holiday period (9am–4.30pm).
All Selwyn Libraries and service centres will close at 12 midday on Friday 24 December. All libraries will reopen from
10am-4pm 29, 30 and 31 December and close 1–4 January. Normal hours resume from Wednesday 5 January.
All Council-managed community centres are closed from midday on Friday 24 December. All centres will reopen on
Monday 10 January with shortened hours based on bookings and group fitness timetables. Facilities will be open between
these dates for pre-arranged events or bookings.
Selwyn Sports Centre will be closed from midday on Friday 24 December and reopening with reduced hours from
Wednesday 5 January to Sunday 9 January. Normal hours from Monday 10 January.
Selwyn Aquatic Centre will be closed on public holidays Saturday 25 December, Sunday 26 December and Saturday 1 January and Sunday 2 January.
Darfield, Southbridge and Sheffield community pools will be closed Saturday 25 December, Sunday 26 December and
Saturday 1 January. Sheffield Pool will also be closed on Sunday 2 January. All three community pools will be open normal hours (1–7pm) on all other days.
Animal Control services are available, operating 24 hours 7 days a week.
The last full day of building inspections was on Tuesday 21 December. Normal hours resume from Tuesday 5 January.
