In 2025, the business landscape is changing faster than ever. New technologies, shifting consumer behaviours, evolving workforce expectations, and global economic pressures are creating both challenges and opportunities that simply didn't exist five years ago.
So how are Selwyn businesses responding to these changes? What's working for them? What isn't. And where is the greatest potential for growth?
Selwyn District Council’s bi-annual Business Survey provides a comprehensive snapshot of Selwyn's business landscape, covering employment and investment trends, current business conditions, the future outlook, and emerging opportunities. The insights gathered help inform business planning and are shared with the wider community and key partners.

Every survey response helps shape the work Selwyn District Council and its key partners do to support economic growth across the district. Everyone who completes the survey can enter our draw to win a comprehensive business support package from Business Canterbury, including a 60-minute business assessment, customised support plan, and two follow-up implementation sessions.
