Council services holiday hours

Here is a summary of Selwyn District Council services and opening hours during the holiday period.

The Council’s Rolleston Offices will be closed from 12 midday Friday 23 December, reopening 8.30am Wednesday 4 January.

Rubbish and recycling collections collection days will proceed as normal.

Pines Resource Recovery Park is closed both Sunday 25 December andbSunday 1 January. Standard opening hours operate for the rest of the holiday period (9am–4.30pm).

All Selwyn Libraries and service centres will close at 4pm Saturday 24 December. All libraries will reopen from 10am–4pm, 28–31 December and close 1–3 January. Normal hours resume from Wednesday 4 January.

All Council-managed community centres are closed from 5pm on Friday 23 December. Lincoln Event Centre is open from Wednesday 4 January to Sunday 8, January with shortened hours based on bookings and group fitness timetables. All centres will reopen on Monday 9 January.

Selwyn Sports Centre will be closed from 12pm on Saturday 24 December and reopening 9am–5pm with reduced classes from Wednesday 4 January to Sunday 8 January. Normal hours resume from Monday 9 January.

Selwyn Aquatic Centre will be closed on public holidays: Sunday 25 December, Monday 26 December and Sunday 1 January and Monday 2 January.

Darfield, Southbridge and Sheffield community pools will be closed Sunday 25 December, Monday 26 December and Sunday 1 January. Sheffield Pool will also be closed on Monday 2 January.
On all other days, Darfield and Southbridge pools will be open 1-7pm weekdays and 1-6pm weekends and Sheffield pool will be open 1-5pm.

Animal Control services are available, operating 24 hours 7 days a week.

The last full day of building inspections will be on Wednesday 21 December. Normal hours resume from Wednesday 5 January.
