Are you prepared for an emergency?

Emergencies can happen at any time, but there are simple, practical tips that you can take now to make sure you, your family and your business is prepared and to make your life more comfortable following an emergency event.

The Selwyn Emergency Management Team is running a series of free presentations on being prepared for all kinds of emergencies, starting in Leeston on Wednesday 31 March. Come and learn simple, practical steps for being ready and getting through emergencies such as tsunami, an alpine fault or other serious earthquakes, storms or flooding.

Depending on the type of emergency, you and your family should be able to cope for a number of days without outside assistance. Understanding the likely impacts of an emergency can help you get through.
