Road repair works will be undertaken on Monday 4 March on a stretch of Ellesmere Junction Road between Shands Road and Springston, to repair damage to the chip seal.

Chip loss has occurred on a recently resealed stretch of 1,140 metres between Shands Road and Springston. This is likely to have been caused by a combination of wet weather over the past weekend and the speed of traffic on the new seal.

The Council’s contractor is planning to undertake repairs on Monday (weather permitting), at their cost. Traffic management will be in place during the repair work and for a period following completion, to allow the repairs to bed in. Road users are asked to observe the traffic warnings and reduced temporary speed limit.

The completed repairs may have a patchy appearance, due to the difficult nature of this type of repair, but will provide a waterproof layer and a good surface texture.
