Here is a summary of Selwyn District Council’s services and facilities opening hours during the holiday period.

The Council’s Rolleston Offices will be closed from 5pm Friday 22 December, reopening 8.30am Wednesday 3 January.

Rubbish and recycling collections for Monday collections, this will be the Saturday prior (23 instead of 25 December and 30 December instead of 1 January).

Pines Resource Recovery Park is closed both Monday 25 December and Monday 1 January. Standard opening hours operate for the rest of the holiday period (9am-4.30pm).

All Selwyn Libraries and Service Centres will be closed on Monday 25 December and reopen from 10am-4pm, 27-29 December, normal hours 30-31 December. All libraries and service centres will be closed 1-2 January with normal hours resuming from Wednesday 3 January. There will be no late night at Lincoln Library and Te Ara Ātea on Thursday 4 January.

All Council-managed Community Centres are closed from 5pm on Friday 22 December and will reopen on Monday 8 January.

Selwyn Sports Centre will operate with reduced hours on Saturday 23 December and close at 1pm on Sunday 24 December, reopening with reduced hours from Wednesday 3 January to Sunday 7 January. Normal hours resume from Monday 8 January.

Selwyn Aquatic Centre will be closed on public holidays: Monday 25 December, Tuesday 26 December, Monday 1 January and Tuesday 2 January.

Darfield, Southbridge and Sheffield Community Pools will be closed Monday 25 December, Tuesday 26 December and Monday 1 January. Sheffield Pool will also be closed on Tuesday 2 January.

Animal Control Services are available, operating 24 hours 7 days a week.

The last full day of building inspections will be on Thursday 21 December. Inspections resume from Wednesday 3 January.
