Over 60 keen competitors and supporters participated in Sunday’s highly anticipated Summer 3X3 Basketball Jam, a new event for Summer in Selwyn.

Faringdon Court played host to the event, and everyone both off and on court gave it their all with great skills, teamwork, three-point shots, blocks and loud cheers of support.

FLAVA radio station joined in the fun bringing a spinning wheel with prizes, commentary, support and music creating an awesome atmosphere.

Ruby, 10, from Rolleston entered a girls team with a friend and another girl she had never met prior to this event.

“I love playing basketball and I’m having heaps of fun!” she said.

Supporters enjoyed the close, exciting games which catered for all ages and abilities, with teams from 10–14 year olds to adults coming from Leeston and Christchurch.
