The quest to understand the essence of home takes centre stage at Te Ara Ātea’s latest exhibition, At Home. Featuring artworks by renowned artists Edith Amituanai (MNZM), Jamie Berry, Megan Brady, Areez Katki, Steven Junil Park, and Marilynn Webb, this exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the varied nature of home.

At Home goes beyond the physicality of houses, looking into the intricate ways individuals and communities create a sense of belonging. From the objects that furnish our homes to the communities that support us, and even the connection to land and waterways, the exhibition reveals the many ways we construct our homes. It's a journey into the heart of what home looks and feels like for those who have built their lives in Aotearoa New Zealand, Waitaha Canterbury, and Waikirikiri Selwyn.

Mat Logan, Culture, Content and Learning Manager said that being able to showcase artists with a range of cultural perspectives reflects the diversity of Selwyn District.

"We’re thrilled to bring At Home to Te Ara Ātea and these artists highlight that belonging is shaped in various ways. It's more than a physical space, home is where personal stories unfold."

At Home runs from 8 November 2023 until 25 May 2024.
