Summer is still going strong in Selwyn and there are plenty of fun activities happening across the district for people of all ages to enjoy.

Recent events, as part of the Summer in Selwyn programme, have included the Family Kite Festival at Foster Park which attracted about 2000 people.

The day featured a fun giant kite display from Peter Lynn Kites, activities at the Selwyn Sports Centre including bouncy castles and the Lü Uno Interactive Wall, and other treats and entertainment. An inaugural Chalk Art Competition at Lincoln Event Centre proved popular, with nearly all tickets sold.

Upcoming events to mark on your calendars include the final Month of Sundays events, with the next one being the Rolleston Brass Band performing at Te Ara Ātea on Sunday 19 February.

There are also two more Chalk Art Competitions on Thursday 16 February at West Melton Community and Recreation Centre Car Park and Thursday 23 February at the Rolleston Community Centre Car Park respectively. The competitions are free for families to enter, but bookings are required.
