The Council is consulting on proposed changes to the Waste Management and Minimisation Bylaw 2012.

It’s the Council’s role to manage waste and to help protect the natural environment. The bylaw forms an integral part of the management of waste in the district and is referred to in a number of documents, as well as referenced on kerbside and public litter bin labels.

The key changes proposed in this review relate to kerbside collections times, waste management plans for commercial or industrial resource and building consents, as well as events.

This draft Waste Management and Minimisation Bylaw 2019 will, upon adoption, replace the Waste Management and Minimisation Bylaw 2012.

Have your say on the new by law. Submissions close at 5pm on Friday 13 September, 2019.
